Phirat (Tom) SupasatitEvangelism Ministry
Phirat Supasatit, one of the first members of New Hope International Church, accepted Jesus Christ through Ps. Lao in 1987. Born in Bangkok into a Buddhist family, Phirat came to the United States when he was 19 years old. Through the years, he fulfilled his dreams of marrying, completing a degree in Business Administration, having children, and owning a business. But even though his dreams were all fulfilled by the age of 37, the happiness he thought they would bring did not come. It was then that he met Ps. Lao and Da, came to know Jesus Christ and the unshakeable joy that came with being forgiven, set free, and filled with the Holy Spirit!
Phirat was a young Christian when he heard the Lord speak to him, “I am going to send you to Bible School.” That was a pretty amazing message granted that he didn’t like to read much! However, he noticed that as he meditated on Bible scripture he would remember it easily and then be led to share it with others. Over time the Holy Spirit enabled Phirat to memorize many scriptures and opened many opportunities from him to share and pray for customers at his business, in the workplace with business associates, and at church. This has become his passion; to boldly share the Good News of Jesus Christ, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, wherever he goes and bring many to salvation.
Phirat has served faithfully for 10 years as a parking lot attendant and church van driver, preaching, quoting scripture, and encouraging a captive audience in the van on the way to church. In recent years, he accepted the invitation to become Evangelism Ministry Director and enjoys planning and leading events with the Evangelism Team that give our church family opportunities to share the Good News about Jesus to a lost world around them! He and Ps. Brenda, his wife of 40 years, also travel to minister and encourage other churches in the U.S. and Thailand and teach workshops on evangelism and children’s ministry. He is encouraged and encourages others with 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
